As a Mathematics teacher, I have found that my passion and commitment to teaching have only grown every year. Even with the complexities of the current educational landscape, the feeling of getting through to that student who just was not “getting the hang of it,” or helping advanced students achieve their goals, never gets old.
I have experience in teaching KS2,11+, KS3, GCSE, IGCSE, IB and A Level Mathematics online and face-to-face. Students say they find my focus on knowledge refreshing, that I open their eyes to details and tips that help them learn quicker and that I increase their Mathematical confidence overall. I have had pupils that have progressed 2-3 grades within a couple of months of sessions by unlocking their true thinking skills.
I am a teacher who specialises in tutoring students to become top students in the world. My previous students have achieved places at University of Oxford, Cambridge University, and top private schools around the world.
My latest IGCSE results grades range from grade 7 to 9. I also have a 100% record in 11+ entrance test.
I am a reliable teacher who is committed and keen to raise the standards of students studying Mathematics.
I volunteer and provide free lessons and resources to poor students all over world.
I love my subject and I am keen for my students to “get it”. Consequently, I spend a lot of time thinking about it, developing, and implementing strategies to support their learning.
Online learning and face to face learning is something I have been doing enthusiastically for many years as a useful and powerful strategy for learning.
I help students to build their confidence. I encourage questioning and make space for curiosity. I encourage students to not only pay attention in class but also ask for clarification when they need to better understand.
I emphasize conceptual understanding over procedure. I emphasized that students should work hard to understand maths concepts and when to apply them versus simply memorizing formulae.
I provide authentic problems that increase students’ drive to engage with math. Students desire, initiative, and motivation to succeed in math is critical, and applying math to real-world problems helps increase both student interest and understanding.
Finally, I share positive attitudes about math. I encourage parents to avoid talking negatively about math, and especially avoid saying that it is hard or useless—instead they should encourage their kids not to give up, and help them find math mentors when they’re not able to answer questions. I believe in making math relevant for students and their careers. I genuinely believe that interest and enthusiasm for working a problem, and the understanding that being able to use skills in your math toolbox can provide insight into relevant issues facing communities and the world today.
