Economics
I am an enthusiastic and experienced teacher with a honours degree and teaching certificate in economics with over 37 years of experience of teaching economics and business at A level and GCSE. I have considerable experience as a GCSE and A level examiner with the AQA and I have worked for Harrow School Easter Revision Courses preparing students for A level examinations since 2005.
I enjoy developing the knowledge and academic confidence in my students and strive to make my lessons engaging and rewarding. As a private tutor, I feel it is important to advise and guide students to develop independence and confidence in creating revision plans and resources to prepare themselves effectively for their examinations.
Careers
I have been a Head of Sixth Form and Director of 14-19 Learning with over 20 years of experience of provided information, advice and guidance on the wide range of pathways and destinations available after GCSEs and A levels. I have a Level 6 Diploma in Careers Guidance and my current role provides me with the opportunity to provide help and support for students in applying places in the sixth form and further education colleges.
I also have considerable experience in managing students through the UCAS, employment and apprenticeship application processes by providing guidance and feedback on personal statements, curriculum vitaes and preparation for interviews. My current role also requires me to provide guidance, support and training for colleagues in the KS5 team in writing UCAS and employment references.
