Jessica

I am Jess, a mother, a teacher and a Welfare Officer. I am passionate about teaching, supporting students to make progress and inspiring children to enjoy learning. I always endeavour to make people feel important, valued and safe in my care/company. Having the opportunity to help children to build confidence, to develop their strengths/weaknesses and recognise their potential, is something I truly value.
I am a qualified Primary Teacher with 5 years of experience class teaching and 2 years’ experience successfully tutoring primary aged pupils in Maths and all areas of English; reading, writing, spelling and grammar. I have a particularly strong grasp of the KS2 curriculum but am trained to teach both primary key stages and have experience of preparing pupils for the Y4 Multiplication Check; having to identify and fill gaps in learning in order for pupils to be successful.
When tutoring, I always work with the student and their family to create robust and bespoke plans based around their strengths, difficulties and interests in order to engage them in their learning and support them to make progress effectively. I am able to motivate and inspire pupils through a range of teaching methods, effective behaviour management strategies, high-quality, creative planning and engaging content, focused on areas of interest.
For the children: I am an avid reader, keen baker and Harry Potter fan. I love to play games, explore new places and eat lots of pizza! I look forward to seeing if we have any mutual interests, I am excited to get to know your likes, your dislikes and to building upon these to support you in your learning.
I look forward meeting you and to starting this learning journey with you.
