Ellen Macgregor - Teacher For The Hearing Impaired

Ellen (also Qualified Teacher of the deaf – PGDHI)

I am an experienced primary schoolteacher who has successfully taught within various educational settings both in the UK and abroad. I qualified as a Teacher of the Deaf in 2013 and now work as an advisory teacher with children who have a hearing impairment, up to and including KS3.

I really like working with children and enjoy spending time with them. I am a good listener and believe being able to communicate with a child is essential for understanding their wants and needs. I think it’s important to challenge and inspire pupils to deepen their knowledge and understanding and feel passionate that every child achieves their potential.

I have experience of working in a primary school setting, developing schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives. I have facilitated learning by establishing a relationship with pupils and creating a positive learning environment, assessed and recorded progress and developed ways to encourage their progress further.

In my free time I enjoy travelling, meeting up with friends and eating out.
