Anna

I am a fully qualified English teacher with a degree in English Literature. I have enjoyed teaching English across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 in very successful schools throughout my career and have worked successfully across all ability levels. My experience has led me to believe that confidence, feeling secure and learning to enjoy engaging with the subject will lead students to success in English. I know the skill sets and approaches that will lead to progress and enjoy seeing students grow in confidence.
I have taught whole class groups and mentored individuals at GSCE, guiding both those who are determined to achieve a crucial pass grade and students with high aspirations who are aiming for top grades. I have led and participated in moderation meetings and mentored teachers early in their careers. I remain passionate about the subject and believe that with the right guidance and self confidence students can be guided to reaching their full potential.
I was Key Stage 5 coordinator in a large school in Cambridgeshire and led a team of excellent, successful A level teachers. We were proud to see many students going on to study their chosen degree courses having been successful at A level. I have marked the A level Literature Shakespeare Paper for OCR which gave valuable insight into the exact requirements of the board and further informed my approach to successful preparation for A level. As a Sixth Form Tutor I was also able to help and guide students through UCAS applications, advising on making positive course choices and writing effective personal statements.
I can offer:
KS3 English
KS4 English Language, English Literature
KS5 English Literature, English Language and Literature
Revision strategies and meta cognition skills
UCAS guidance, personal statement advice
