I enjoy helping people and making a worthwhile contribution to their education, employment prospects and quality of life.
I have considerable experience of teaching pupils on a 1-1 basis, and in small groups, to improve their maths. skills and their GCSE grade. This has included planning programmes for learners of all ages and of many different abilities.
I like to feel that I can motivate pupils and give them belief in their ability.

I have lots of patience and concentrate on improving confidence and ability.
My main, current work, involves working with pupils at KS2, 3 and 4. If 1-to-1, this allows for very focused work and it allows me to become familiar with each pupil’s needs and to closely monitor and track their progress. It is also interesting to work with different personalities.
I adapt my approach to a diverse range of learners both on a 1-to-1 basis and in group situations. I use effective questioning techniques to prompt learning and also to test understanding.
I am well organised, self-motivated and able to work on my own initiative to get the job done. Equally, my ICT skills are well developed and I am confident in the use of several on-line teaching platforms and also with Office-type programs.
